Veneto Children's Hospital "Salus Pueri"
The Veneto Children's Hospital is a large and modern facility dedicated to paediatric care, with rationalised care pathways and centralised intensive and surgical activities.
The building is located in the heart of the eastern area of the 'pavilion' complex of the Giustinianeo Hospital, connected to the buildings intended for obstetric and gynaecological activities. It is spread over eight floors, has 155 beds in an area of 20 thousand square meters with, on the seventh floor, six operating theaters. Each room has a space dedicated to caregivers.
The Pediatrics of Padova is the largest institute in the Northeast dedicated to the care of girls and girls. Every year , on average , 10,000 are hospitalized; there are 25,000 admissions to the emergency room, and 320,000 outpatient visits. In the twelve months of the year, there are an average of 2800 births. There are 26 operating units in the Children's Hospital.
Particular attention has been paid to the design of the interiors, designed to contribute to the treatment process and improve the hospitalization experience. The hospital is not only a place of care, but also of welcome and life.
Inspired by the theme of nature, the project has transformed the spaces into a real journey through the Earth's biomes: from rainforests to savannahs, from deserts to glaciers, offering young patients an educational and immersive experience during their hospitalization.
Each floor is characterized by a color and a symbol inspired by nature and the paths of the Botanical Garden of Padova and the Museum of Nature and Man - University of Padua that give life to a path that makes Pediatrics also a place of welcome and growth.
The construction works were completed in September 2025, thanks to a total investment of €107 million: €92 million for construction and €15 million for medical equipment, of which €1 million came from PNRR funds .
