Vision and mission help us to share the meaning of the pedagogical project with the community, draw inspiration and guide our actions on a daily basis.
Vision
The Nido Milla Baldo Ceolin is a place of reference for the territory, in the elaboration and dissemination of an updated culture of childhood in which the child is recognized as a competent, active subject and bearer of rights from the first days of life. Through collaboration with families and the academic community, the nursery supports the rights of children and the rights of families to be accompanied in parental functions, promoting equal opportunities, family well-being and social cohesion.
Mission
The Nido Milla Baldo Ceolin offers educational and training opportunities to boys and girls, for their harmonious development, adopting a personalized approach, oriented to respond to the developmental needs of each child (cognitive, emotional, social and physical) through careful observation, a daily relationship respectful of the individual rhythms of growth, and carefully designed environments where each child can develop his or her identity, autonomy and potential. Particular educational care is given to children with social, developmental and learning difficulties.
The Nursery also builds differentiated responses to the multiple needs of families, recognizing their rights to information, participation, training and co-construction of educational knowledge, in a context of collaboration and enhancement of different personal and cultural identities. Attention is expressed in the diversity of participation spaces created every year.
Finally, the Nursery School is an educational system of excellence that is based on close collaboration with families, with the local and academic community, achieved through educational innovation, scientific research, interdisciplinary exchange, reflection and continuous training. The interdisciplinary contribution of the University is integrated with the dimension of the educational intervention and impacts on the professional development, not only of the educational team of the Nido Milla, but also of the university students belonging to the various courses of study of the University of Padua (including the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Educational Sciences, Rovigo campus, with a specialization in "Educational services for children" of the FiSPPA Department).
"Milla"
The name of the Nest pays homage to an extraordinary and tenacious woman, a tireless scholar known all over the world, first a pupil and then a colleague of the greatest international physicists. Massimilla Baldo Ceolin, known to everyone simply as "Milla", was one of the pioneers of particle physics, and with her cutting-edge research earned legendary nicknames such as "the lady of the neutrino" and "the lady of the antilambda".
The choice of the name for the Nursery not only celebrates the merits of this extraordinary scientist, but also aims to enhance and promote the presence of women in the field of science. This is in full harmony with the policy of promoting equal gender opportunities and social justice to which the Nursery responds.
