Mauro Conti is Full Professor at the University of Padua, Italy. He is also affiliated with University of Washington, Seattle, and is a Wallenberg WASP Guest Professor at Örebro University, Sweden. He obtained his Ph.D. from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, in 2009.
After his Ph.D., he was a Post-Doc Researcher at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In 2011 he joined as Assistant Professor at the University of Padua, where he became Associate Professor in 2015, and Full Professor in 2018. He has been Affiliate Professor at TU Delft. He has been awarded with a Marie Curie Fellowship (2012) by the European Commission, with a Fellowship by the German DAAD (2013), and with a WASP
Fellowship by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (2025). His research is also funded by companies, including Cisco, Intel, and Huawei. His main research interest is in the area of Security and Privacy. In this area, he published more than 600 papers in topmost international peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He is area
Editor-in-Chief for IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials, and has been Editor-in-Chief for IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (2022-24) and Associate Editor for several journals. He was Program Chair and General Chair for several top-tier conferences. He is Fellow of the IEEE, Fellow of the AAIA, Distinguished Member of the ACM, and Fellow of the Young Academy of Europe. In 2022, he was named Knight
of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, by the President of the Republic.
