Foundations
Foundations, associations, charities and other international public and private entities
In Europe and in the world there are numerous organizations that fund basic, clinical and applied research at an international level, at several levels and in different forms, according to their budget availability and in line with their mission.
Researchers at any stage of their scientific career are funded, whether or not they are structured at a research institution, with individual innovative projects or collaboration with other national or international research groups.
Some funding bodies support research only to implement scientific development in their own country, thus requiring the mobility of the researcher for the entire duration of the research contract (post-doc); others, on the other hand, give the possibility to choose one's host institution, which can also be the one in which the researcher is structured (University of Padova).
All scientific fields are funded. Most funding bodies are created to solve specific health and pharmacological problems, but there are also organizations open to proposals in any area, as long as they are innovative and have a great impact, be it social, economic, technological or political.
