Rector elections - six-year term 2021-2027
The Rector is elected from among the tenured full professors in service at Italian universities, recognized by the competent ministry, who ensure a number of years of service at least equal to the duration of the mandate, before retirement.
Every six years, during the fifth month preceding the expiry of the term of office of the rector in office, the dean of the full professors of the university or, in the event of his absence or impediment, the full professor who follows him in order of seniority, who replaces him in all respects, announces the election of the rector, which must take place during the fourth month prior to the expiry of the term of office of the Rector.
