The University of Padova has established the figure of the Ombudsperson to better guarantee the rights of students, ensuring the impartiality, correctness and timeliness of administrative action within the University. 
The Ombudsperson is a person from outside the University, appointed by Rector's decree, and is not subject to any form of hierarchical dependence, thus ensuring impartiality and independence in the exercise of his or her functions to protect students.

Functions:

  • provides advice and assistance to students in exercising their rights;
  • guarantees the impartiality, correctness and timeliness of the University's administrative action in relation to student requests;
  • ensures that the administrative and teaching activities of the University are carried out in compliance with the University's statute and regulations, with particular attention to the interests of the student community.

The Ombudsperson intervenes only at the request of students, individuals or associations, who detect abuses, dysfunctions, deficiencies, delays, omissions, illegitimacy of rules or violations of the principles of good administration, put in place in the context of university activity. This includes the performance of teaching activities or issues related to university staff
The request for intervention by students is not subject to any formality.
