Cug Events
On the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), the Single Guarantee Committee of the University of Padua on May 22, 2026 celebrates the seventh edition of the research award on the issues of gender identity and sexual orientation for the fight against discrimination.
The prize, reserved for young researchers who carry out or have carried out research on the topic of homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, at universities or research institutions and on these topics have published a scientific article in an international scientific journal, this year was awarded to Raffaele Pizzo, research fellow at the University of Naples "L'Orientale", Department of Literary, Linguistic and Comparative Studies, for his contribution entitled "Lack of Agency and Activism in Subtitling: Past and Present LGBTQIA+ Communities in Comparison".
The event is open to the public.

On the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, a webinar was organized for the presentation of the prize for research work on the issues of gender identity and sexual orientation for the fight against discrimination - 2023 Edition to the winner Guido Giovanardi, clinical psychologist and researcher of dynamic psychology at the Department of Dynamic Psychology, of the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology of the Sapienza University of Roma, for her contribution entitled "Paola on the Couch: The Quest for Feminine Identity in an Empirically Supported Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy of a Trans Woman".
It was discussed by lecturer Tindara Addabbo, president of the National Conference of Equality Bodies of Italian Universities, Annalisa Oboe, lecturer and director of the Elena Cornaro Center, Vincenzo Bochicchio, vice-president of the National Conference of Equality Bodies of Italian Universities and Silvana Badaloni, member of the Board of Directors of the Elena Cornaro Center.

A webinar on homophobic bullying at school
The Single Guarantee Committee of the University of Padua has announced an award for a research work on the issues of gender identity and sexual orientation with application value for the fight against discrimination. In fact, the call required that the study also offer indications on how to react effectively to this form of abuse by proposing lines of practical action.
The prize was awarded, from a shortlist of 26 candidates, to Davide Zotti, for his contribution entitled Individual and contextual factors associated with school staff responses to homophobic bullying.
