Online training courses on occupational health and safety

Mandatory training for workers and equivalent persons (Legislative Decree 81/08, Art. 2(a)) consists of:

1. GENERAL TRAINING COURSE

• intended for all workers and equivalent persons

This course constitutes permanent training credit for all sectors

2. SPECIFIC TRAINING COURSE

a) LOW-RISK ACTIVITIES: Specific training on the protection of the health and safety of workers employed in OFFICE activities - LOW risk class (4 hours)

• intended for persons employed in offices and similar activities (e.g. library activities, front office, etc.) and in computer laboratories only.

or

b) HIGH-RISK ACTIVITIES: Specific training on the protection of the health and safety of workers employed in Laboratory activities (Ministerial Decree 363/98, Art. 2, para. 3) - High risk class (12 hours)

• intended for persons employed in scientific laboratories (indoor and outdoor).

or

c) HIGH-RISK ACTIVITIES – MEDICAL AREA: Specific training on the protection of the health and safety of workers employed in medical and healthcare activities.

• intended for persons with a medical and healthcare profile.

These courses are subject to five-yearly refresher training.

Also for safety courses, employees can find records of those completed by accessing the UNIFOR platform under the section “I tuoi corsi”. On the same UNIFOR platform, heads of structure can verify the training completed by the staff reporting to them. 

Before undertaking the training pathway, anyone who has already completed training courses on occupational health and safety, at this University or at another body/company/employer in Italy, may independently check the validity of their certificates as indicated in the following instructions "check previous certificates".

All workers or equivalent persons must submit the above-mentioned general and specific training certificates to their Head of Structure/RDRL/supervisor, who will assess their suitability in relation to the actual risks of the duties carried out. 

In addition to the training courses delivered on the moodle platform and intended for the whole University, the training may include:

1. specific training courses (with or without university credits (ECTS credits)) organised by departments for the various degree programmes; they may be delivered online or in person;
2. further appropriate information, training and practical instruction provided by the supervisor/RDRL, in relation to particular additional risks of the specific laboratory

Information on accessing training for guests, visitors, scholars from other universities, etc. who do not have SSO

As provided for by the legislation cited above, “all those who carry out work activities within the organisation, with or without remuneration, […] must receive adequate general and specific training on health and safety in the workplace”.

Therefore, subjects such as:

• visitors (e.g. visiting professor, visiting student);
• employees or students/trainees from other universities;
• employees of other bodies or companies (e.g. CNR, INFN employees, etc.);
• research collaborators;
• subject experts;
• etc.

who carry out activities at the facilities of this University must be adequately informed and trained in accordance with legal provisions.

The persons responsible for these roles (teaching staff, RDRL, supervisors, etc.) must therefore ensure that they have adequate training by checking, as per the instructions above, any certificates they may have obtained.

If they do not have adequate training, the persons responsible must ensure that the above-mentioned subjects attend the courses on the University moodle platform.

As these are usually not “contracted” roles, and therefore do not have institutional SSO credentials, the account for the moodle platform must be created manually.
Note: Any request for an “...@unipd” email address to be assigned to these roles does not constitute SSO because, in the absence of a specific “contractual form” with the University, it remains solely and exclusively an email account and the related credentials therefore do not enable access to the moodle platforms or other University applications.

Following the release of the new “Portale Utenti Esterni”, individual facilities can now manage requests to create manual accounts completely independently.

Those who have already completed training courses on occupational health and safety at this University or at another body/company/employer in Italy may independently verify the validity of their certificates by consulting the following document: “certificate verification”
