The University aims to create and disseminate the culture of safety and prevention, giving importance to all activities and initiatives that contribute to promoting responsible behaviour in workers, based on the protection not only of one's own safety but also that of others and the identification of the tools necessary to combat accidents at work.

The current legislation (Legislative Decree 81/08 Consolidated Law on Safety and State-Regions Agreements of 21/12/2011 and 07/07/2016 and subsequent amendments), provides that all those who carry out a work activity within the organization with or without remuneration, even for the sole purpose of learning a trade, an art or a profession, regardless of the type of contract, receive adequate general and specific training on health and safety in the workplace.

The compulsory training for workers and equivalent subjects (Legislative Decree 81/08 art. 2 letter a) consists of:

1. GENERAL TRAINING COURSE

  • aimed at all workers and assimilated

This course constitutes permanent training credit for all sectors

2. SPECIFIC TRAINING COURSE

a) LOW RISK ACTIVITIES : Specific training on the protection of the health and safety of workers employed in OFFICE activities - LOW risk class (4 hours)

  • aimed at people employed in the office and similar activities (e.g. activities in the library, front office, etc.) and in exclusively computer laboratories.

Or

b) HIGH RISK ACTIVITIES: Specific training on the protection of the health and safety of workers employed in laboratory activities (Ministerial Decree 363/98 art. 2 c. 3) - High risk class (12 hours)

  • aimed at subjects employed in scientific laboratories (indoor and outdoor).

Or

c) HIGH-RISK ACTIVITIES – MEDICAL AREA: Specific training on the protection of the health and safety of workers employed in medical and health activities.

  • aimed at individuals with a medical and health profile.

These courses are subject to five-year refresher courses.

The courses are delivered online through the University's moodle platform, accessible with one's institutional credentials (SSO) and reachable from the following address:
elearning.unipd.it/formazione/

In the following document you can find step-by-step instructions (in Italian and English) for accessing the courses
Course Access Guide (Download  Download)

Also for safety courses, employees can find feedback on those completed by accessing the UNIFOR platform under "Your courses". On the same UNIFOR platform , facility managers can check the training performed by their staff.

Before embarking on the training course, those who have already taken training courses on health and safety at work, at this University or at another body/firm/employer in Italy, can independently verify the validity of their certificates as indicated in the instructions below "verification of previous certificates".

All workers or equivalent persons must present the aforementioned general and specific training certificates to their Facility Manager/RDRL/supervisor who will assess their adequacy with respect to the actual risks of the task performed.

In addition to the training courses provided on the moodle platform and aimed at the whole University, the training may include:

  1. specific training courses (with or without university credits (ECTS credits)) organized by the departments for the various degree courses; they can be delivered online or in person;
  2. further adequate information, education and training by the person in charge/RDRL, in relation to particular additional risks of the specific laboratory

Information for access to the training of guests, visitors, scholars, other universities, etc., not in possession of SSO

As required by the aforementioned legislation , "all those who carry out a work activity within the organization with or without remuneration, [...] , receive adequate general and specific training on health and safety in the workplace".

Therefore, subjects such as:

  • visitors (e.g. visiting professor, visiting student);
  • employees or students/trainees of other universities;
  • employees of other bodies or companies (e.g. CNR, INFN employees, etc.);
  • research collaborators;
  • experts in the subject;
  • Etc.

who carry out activities at the structures of this University, must be adequately informed and trained as required by law.

The contact persons of these figures (teachers, RDRL, supervisors, etc.) must therefore ensure that they are in possession of adequate training by verifying, as per the instructions above, any certifications obtained.

In the event that they do not have adequate training, the contact persons must ensure that the above-mentioned individuals attend the courses on the University's moodle platform.

Since these are not usually "contracted" figures, and therefore not in possession of institutional SSO credentials, the account on the moodle platform will have to be created manually.
Note: Any request for a "...@unipd" mailbox to be assigned to these figures does not constitute SSO because, in the absence of a specific "contractual form" with the University, only and exclusively an email account remains and the related credentials therefore do not enable access to moodle platforms or other University applications.

Following the release of the new "External User Portal", individual Facilities can now manage manual account creation requests in complete autonomy.
For additional information or technical support regarding the use of the portal, please open a ticket through the helpdesk system, directing it to the following queue:

ASIT > Office of Infrastructure Systems and Telecommunications > External User Management Platform

Those who have already taken training courses in the field of health and safety at work, at this University or at another institution/company/employer in Italy, can independently verify the validity of their certificates by consulting the following document: "verification of certificates"
