Consorzio Ecosistema Innovazione iNEST – Interconnected Nord-Est Innovation Ecosystem

The Consorzio Ecosistema Innovazione iNEST, for the implementation of the research programme as an "Innovation Ecosystem" within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), is aimed at extending the benefits of digital technologies to the main specialised areas of the North-East (Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Veneto and the two Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano): the industrial-manufacturing, agriculture, sea, mountain, construction, tourism, culture, health and food sectors.
The interconnection of local ecosystems at macro-regional level will make it possible to work on a common “digital vision” for the benefit of the economy and citizens, with local smart specialisation strategies to be combined in a shared mission for the North-East. The Consortium will implement the research programme through a structure consisting of a hub and spokes. It is made up of 11 founding members, 9 universities and three bodies, and has the University of Padua as the proposing founding body.
