A.Y. 2026/27 - Bachelor's degree, single-cycle master's degree and master's degree

Course change is a procedure that allows students enrolled in a first-cycle/Bachelor's degree course, single-cycle master's degree or master's degree programme at the University of Padova to transfer to another degree course within the University. To apply for it, there are specific requirements; The necessary information can be found in the document published below. It reports what you need to do (and know) before submitting the request for change of course or, alternatively, the application for withdrawal and new enrolment:

Conditions for submitting the online course change request and implications for one's university career.

It is preferable to read the indicated document well in advance of the start of the academic year, as some deadlines (e.g. those for the recognition of previous university credits, for those who intend to apply for it) are already set for July 2026.

For admission purposes, the time of submission of the application by the student (which must have been submitted within the deadlines set by the degree course) and its correctness with respect to the requirements and methods of submission are taken into consideration. The course change application is managed after submission and completed within a few working days, even after the deadlines.

Those in possession of a foreign access ticket must follow the procedures on page https://www.unipd.it/cambi-di-corso-titoli-esteri.

Procedures

Other information

Example 1 – change of course with recognition (of credits) of exams
Andrea is enrolled in the second year of Biology at the University of Padova but would like to enrol in the Molecular Biology course, also at the University of Padova. Andrea has already taken some exams in the Biology course very similar to those in the Molecular Biology course and he would like these to be recognized so that he does not have to repeat them.
To obtain this recognition (of credits) of the exams already taken, Andrea must apply for recognition credits as indicated on page www.unipd.it/riconoscimento-crediti-pregressi. By submitting the application in the scheduled period (June/July 2026), Andrea will receive a resolution in which those that have been recognized as valid for the Molecular Biology course will be indicated among the exams he has taken in the Biology course.
Based on the evaluations made by the commission that has viewed his career, Andrea will know if he will be able to enrol in the first, second or third year of Molecular Biology, if he will have to take an admission test or if he will be exempt from it.

Andrea will then have to obtain admission to the Molecular Biology course, and if he obtains it, decide whether to apply for a change of course or an application for withdrawal-new enrolment.
In the document "Conditions for submitting the request for change of course and implications for one's university career" there is information on how to obtain admission (also based on the year of admission proposed) and the differences between the application for change of course and that of withdrawal-new enrolment.
Once he has chosen which path best suits his situation, Andrea can follow the instructions for changing courses available on this page or the instructions for withdrawing and re-enrolment.

Example 2 - course change without recognition (of credits) of exams
Alex is enrolled in the first year of Computer Science at the University of Padova but would like to enroll in the Literature course, also at the University of Padova. Alex decides not to ask for the transfer of the university credits (ECTS credits) accumulated in the Computer Science course.
Alex will then have to obtain admission to the Humanities course and decide whether to apply for a change of course or an application for withdrawal-new enrolment.
In the document "Conditions for submitting the request for change of course and implications for one's university career" there is information on how to obtain admission and the differences between the application for change of course and that of withdrawal-new enrolment.
Once you have chosen which path best suits your situation, Alex can follow the instructions for changing courses available on this page or the instructions for withdrawing and re-enrolment.
