The call for tutors of the 12th edition of Arqus Cafés, on syllabus from 16 March to 29 May 2026, is open.
Would you like to join the Arqus Café family as a tutor?
All Arqus languages will be offered and new languages are always welcome!
Tutors support and guide the conversation in their native language or first language, encouraging participants on their learning journey. The tutors of the Arqus Café receive training, guidelines, themes and strategies for conducting the meetings and, in many cases, work in pairs for the same language.
The cafés take place once a week for one hour and the selected tutors will be able to propose their own café at a time compatible with their availability.
The Arqus Cafés are informal gatherings where students and staff can get together to practise their languages, guided by tutors who are native speakers of their respective languages. With online and face-to-face formats, cafés offer participants a relaxed environment to develop language skills and broaden cultural understanding, without the pressures of traditional lecturer-led classes.
Born in the spring of 2020 as a digital initiative, the Arqus Cafés quickly became a great success among the member universities of the Alliance. Today, they remain one of Arqus' most popular activities, offering cultural exchange and the opportunity to make personal connections.
The 12th edition of the Arqus Café will start on March 16, 2026.

The University of Padova participates in the "9 Months, 9 Universities" webinar series of the Arqus Alliance with a new appointment dedicated to one of the most relevant topics for the academic world: the role of universities in the era of generative artificial intelligence.
The webinar "Generative AI and the role of Universities: from LLM to multi-model architectures" will take place on Tuesday 16 December 2025 at 11:00 CET live on YouTube.
Generative artificial intelligence represents an epochal transformation for the university system, comparable to the invention of printing or the digital revolution. Universities today have the responsibility to lead this change, forming citizens who are aware and capable of understanding its potential, limits and ethical implications.
The webinar will analyze the strategic role of academic institutions in this transition, starting from the awareness that the transformation of knowledge and learning is a historical constant.
The presentation will be held by Dario Da Re, Director of the Digital Learning and Multimedia Office of the University of Padova. With a PhD in Social Research Methodology, Da Re coordinates innovative generative AI projects for education, including the Lucrez-IA platform and its integrations into software and applications.
Unipd's participation in the Arqus series enhances the University's expertise at the European level, offering an international space for discussion on the future of teaching and innovation.
At the heart of the talk will focus on the five pillars of multi-model architectures — scalability, accessibility, security, privacy, and replicability — as a sustainable approach to single business models. These are not only technical principles, but also ethical ones, which are fundamental to adopting AI while respecting university values.
Three key areas of impact will also be explored:
The presentation will conclude with practical examples of implementation of multi-model architectures.
The webinar is open to the academic community and will be broadcast live on the Arqus Alliance's YouTube channel.

The syllabus, led by the Arqus Student Agora, aims to create a network of student ambassadors who promote the values and initiatives of the Alliance, interacting with the student community, staff and local communities.
The ambassadors will be the point of contact for students interested in learning more about the Alliance and its programmes. They will disseminate information about events and activities, involve colleagues and staff members, and contribute to the Alliance's awareness-raising and participation initiatives.
To ensure the success of the syllabus, Arqus will provide ambassadors with comprehensive training and ongoing support. They will have access to resources, including open-source materials, training sessions on effective communication and leadership, and best practice guidelines. Ambassadors will also benefit from networking opportunities, gaining visibility and recognition through the Alliance's communication channels, as well as exclusive access to dedicated events and resources.
The Arqus Ambassadors Program is open to all students enrolled in one of the Arqus universities. Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong interest in international collaboration and cultural exchange, possess good communication skills, and show initiative and creativity. Previous international experience, such as participation in study abroad programs or language exchanges, is particularly valued.
Students interested in becoming Ambassadors of the Arqus Alliance must fill out the application form by 15 November, including their CV and a motivational letter, highlighting their institutional commitment, experience working with international students and their dedication to promoting international cooperation.
For more information about the Arqus Alliance Ambassadors Program, timeline and application process, visit the Arqus Ambassadors Program page or contact the Arqus Student Agora at student-agora@arqus-alliance.eu.

The Arqus Cafés are informal gatherings where students and staff of the Alliance's universities can practise a foreign language under the guidance of native or equivalent tutors. Born in the spring of 2020 as a digital initiative, the Cafés have been a great success and today represent one of the most popular events of Arqus, offering a unique opportunity for cultural exchange and linguistic growth in a relaxed environment free of the typical pressures of face-to-face lessons.
As a tutor, you will be tasked with facilitating conversation in your native or main language, encouraging participants to get involved. You will receive dedicated training, guidelines, topic suggestions, and strategies to best conduct the sessions. In many cases you will work in pairs with another tutor of the same language.
