Services

At the University of Padua, 32 Departments are responsible for both scientific research and teaching activities. The university pursues the broadest field of research in light of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research. The research areas are listed here by Department in order to make the information more accessible. Each Department has been grouped according to its main scientific domain: Life Sciences (LS), Physical Sciences and Engineering (PE), Social Sciences and Humanities (SH).

At the University of Padua, 11 Departments have been selected as Departments of Excellence of Italian universities: they are among the 180 beneficiaries of a national award, which consists of a special five-year funding provided by the MUR to strengthen and improve excellence in research and course unit. This recognition is awarded to those departments that stand out for the quality of the research carried out and the quality of their scientific development project.
