Admission information at a glance

The information below is intended to provide a general overview of the course admission procedures, in order to facilitate the completion of the required steps. It is nonetheless necessary to read the admission notice, the official document for access to the course.

To access the first year, it is necessary to pre-enrol and sit the TOLC-I test. The order in which these two steps are carried out does not matter, provided that they are completed by the relevant deadlines; the TOLC result is acquired automatically after the end of the pre-enrolment period for the selection in which you are participating.

The merit rankings are then drawn up: if you are admitted during the scheduled reallocation rounds or recoveries, you may submit an online enrolment application by following the instructions given on the dedicated page. The procedures and timeframes for completing the process are set out in the admission notice and differ for each of the 3 selection rounds.

Enrolment is finalised automatically with the assignment of the student ID number within a few working days from the time the application is submitted (including payment of the first instalment for the academic year 2026/27), after the necessary administrative checks. For enrolment applications submitted before August, the student ID number will be assigned starting from 3 August 2026.

Please note: anyone accessing the course with an upper secondary school qualification obtained abroad must follow additional procedures for the verification of the entry qualification. For further information, please refer to the admission notice.

Changing degree programme to access the first year, procedurally, differs from standard enrolment only in the final stage of the process: it is therefore necessary to take part in the selection process like the other candidates (by pre-enrolling and taking the required TOLC), be admitted in the ranking list and submit the online application for a degree programme change instead of the standard enrolment application.
There are financial implications connected with the choice between changing degree programme and enrolment: the relevant information is available in a dedicated document on the page https://www.unipd.it/cambi-corso.

Changing degree programme does not imply the automatic transfer of any exams/activities already completed from previous academic careers to the new one. Those concerned must submit a specific online application for credit recognition as indicated in the paragraph "In brief: Career shortening". The access procedures vary depending on the recognitions and the proposed year of admission, whether the first year or a subsequent year.

Information on the requirements and procedures to follow in order to request a degree programme change is available on the page https://www.unipd.it/cambi-corso.

Please note: anyone accessing the programme using a secondary school qualification obtained abroad must follow additional procedures to verify the entry qualification, as indicated in the admission notice. The procedures for requesting a degree programme change are instead set out on the page https://www.unipd.it/en/degree-programme-change

The transfer from another university to access the first year, from a procedural point of view, differs from standard enrolment only with regard to the final stage of the process: it is therefore necessary to take part in the selection process like the other candidates (by pre-enrolling and taking the required TOLC), be admitted in the ranking list and submit the online incoming transfer application instead of the standard enrolment application. It is also necessary to follow the procedures for requesting the outgoing transfer at your university of origin.
There are financial implications regarding the choice between incoming transfer and enrolment: information on this is available in a dedicated document, on the page https://www.unipd.it/trasferirsi-altro-ateneo.

Incoming transfer does not imply the automatic transfer of any examinations/activities already completed from previous academic careers to the new one. Interested applicants must submit a specific online recognition application as indicated in the paragraph "In brief: Shortening of degree programme". The access procedures vary depending on the recognitions and on the proposed year of admission, the first year or those subsequent to the first.

Information on the requirements and procedures to follow in order to request a transfer from another university is available on the page https://www.unipd.it/trasferirsi-altro-ateneo.

Please note: anyone accessing the degree programme using a secondary school qualification obtained abroad must follow additional procedures for the verification of the entry qualification, as indicated in point 6 of the admission call. The procedures for requesting an incoming transfer are instead set out on the page https://www.unipd.it/en/transfer-from-italian-university

It is possible to request the recognition of certified academic and professional activities, and of examinations already taken (including abroad), such as single courses or in previous university careers, so that they do not have to be taken again in the Degree Programme to be attended at the University of Padua.

The application for credit recognition must be submitted by following a specific online procedure, expected to be available between June and the first half of July 2026. Information on how to proceed and the exact dates are published on the page www.unipd.it/domanda-valutazione.
The appointed committee issues a resolution with the list of recognised examinations/activities and the proposed year of admission:
- in the case of proposed admission to the first year, it is necessary to take part in the admission selections with no difference whatsoever compared with those who have not requested credit recognition;
- in the case of proposed admission to a year after the first, it is necessary to be admitted in the relevant rankings, which may be drawn up on the basis of the number of places available for each year of the course, as indicated in the admission notice. If not admitted, it is possible to take part in the admission selections for the first year with no difference whatsoever compared with those who have not requested credit recognition.

The rankings are published on this page (for access to the first year and to subsequent years); in the event of admission, the enrolment, course change or incoming transfer application must be submitted by following the instructions provided on the page www.unipd.it/istruzioniaccesso-triennali-magistrali-ciclounico.

The recognised examinations are entered into the new career after enrolment and by the first available examination session for the academic year 2026/27.

It is in any case possible, even before submitting the credit recognition application or obtaining the resolution, to take part in the selections for the first year so as to secure a place in the first year within the Degree Programme. The career is then updated automatically by entering the recognitions included in the resolution and any enrolment in a year after the first.

For questions and assistance regarding the submission of the credit recognition application, the issuing of resolutions and the entry of recognised examinations into the new career, it is possible to contact the relevant back office for the course of interest: www.unipd.it/backoffice-carriere-studenti.

Please note: anyone accessing the course using a secondary school qualification obtained abroad must follow the procedures and meet the deadlines set out on the page https://www.unipd.it/en/credit-recognition
