Area di ricerca

All areas of neuropsychology, language in particular. A main research topic is lexical semantics and the retrieval processes, studied through the observation of specific aphasic conditions, with special attention to word categories (e.g. proper and common names, mass and count nouns) and morphological features (e.g. compounds, derived words, etc). Another pivotal interest is that of number representation and calculation, studied through the observation of acalculia cases, research concerning number transcoding, arithmetical facts representation, arithmetical procedures and rules and conceptual knowledge; the domain of body representation is also addressed through a an experimental approach; other neuropsychological topics concern phonology, gesture, drawing and clinical issues as early diagnosis of dementia; theoretical and methodological issues are widely addressed (original theoretical accounts of the modularity and transparency principles, the use of strategies and longitudinal studies); the brain implementation of processes observed in psychoanalysis and the relation between cognitive neuroscience and psychoanalysis have also been the focus of theoretical work.

Tesi proposte

Italiano
