Antonio Cavallin Toscani is an Assistant Professor (RTDa) of Circular Economy and Operations and Supply Chain Management at the University of Padova (Italy) and a Visiting Scholar at the INSEAD Sustainability Business Initiative (France). He obtained a Master’s Degree in Energy Engineering and a Ph.D. in Management Engineering at the University of Padova in 2018 and 2023, respectively. His research sits at the intersection of industrial ecology and supply chain management, focusing on Life Cycle Assessment and other environmental accounting techniques to help companies evaluate and improve their sustainability performance. His research interests cover a variety of innovative areas for environmental impact estimation and reduction, including event organizations, circular business models, digitalization strategies, and public procurement. On these topics and related subjects, he has been involved in funded projects and research partnerships with public bodies, multinational companies, and small-medium-sized enterprises. His work has been published in leading journals such as Manufacturing & Service Operations Management and the Journal of Industrial Ecology. In 2024, he was awarded a Teaching Effectiveness Award by the University of Padova in recognition of his top rankings in student evaluations. He is currently a member of the following academic societies and research groups: European Operations Management Association (EurOMA), Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), International Society for Industrial Ecology (ISIE), Italian Association of Management Engineering (AiIG), Research Initiative at INSEAD “Sustainability Business Initiative” (SBI), Interdepartmental Study Center at the University of Padova “Circular Economy of Waste, Materials and Sustainability” (CEWMS), Interdepartmental Study Center at the University of Padova “Center for the study of energy economics and technology Giorgio Levi Cases”.
