Innovative student projects
Talea - Philosophical practices for the ethics of care

Talea aims to translate ethical and philosophical theories of care into concrete, community-based practices. The project is primarily intended for students on bachelor’s and master’s degree courses in philosophy, pedagogy and education sciences, but it remains open to anyone wishing to explore the theme of care.
Through a programme of five meetings, the project seeks to form a group for enquiry and experimentation that will explore care of the self, care in relationships and care for the environment, taking the prison context as a paradigmatic setting. The choice of this field is not accidental: it is a space in which complex forms of coexistence and potentially conflictual relationships emerge. In this sense, it offers a privileged lens through which to observe how care of the self and of others affects the quality of interactions and processes of personal transformation. Through workshops and listening practices, starting from direct experiences, participants will work with experts in prison mediation and the employment reintegration of people in detention.
Students will have the opportunity to explore activities that have helped reconnect detained individuals with the world of work, also through care for their own living environment. Overall, the programme aims to highlight the decisive role of practical and work-based activity in care of the self and of others.
