Self-help for visually impaired young people
On the basis of the many years of experience of the self-mutual-help group for the visually impaired of adult and senile age, a new self-help group aimed at young visually impaired people aged between 15 and 27 years was born in Padova, with the support of the Regional Center for Visual Rehabilitation of Low Vision, the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Padova and the Association of Street Psychologists. The group is based on the principles of self-mutual-help, group experiences for people who share the same problem coordinated by a facilitator. The group is open to anyone interested (in the case of participants under the age of 18 with written consent signed by both parents) with face-to-face meetings at the Regional Center for Visual Rehabilitation, one of the Italian excellences in rehabilitation medicine. Meetings are held in person approximately once a month.

Today and Tomorrow ETS  Foundation
Fondazione Oggi e Domani was established on 28 June 2022 following a survey carried out in the provinces of Padova and Rovigo on disability support, also through a participatory process, promoted by Fondazione Cariparo, which involved numerous families of people with disabilities, third sector bodies and local institutions. Read more: www.fondazioneoggiedomani.it

"Let's connect the territory" is a project of the Foundation, a dedicated format, through which Oggi e Domani opens its doors to citizens and hosts different realities, creating a space in which people with disabilities can also tell their point of view and the value of first-hand experiences.

The Foundation has created an  anonymous and short-to-fill  questionnaire to collect the point of view of brothers and sisters of people with disabilities (the so-called "siblings"), adults and the territories of Padova and Rovigo, in relation to:

  • the role they play in the family of origin
  • the supports they would feel necessary in the present
  • their perception of the After Us and the future.

The results will help to guide future activities and to understand if it can be useful to build initiatives dedicated to them.
