San Vito di Cadore
Centre for Studies on the Alpine Environment, L. Susmel
Managed by the Department of Territory and Agro-forestry Systems of the University of Padua, in the Study Center for the Alpine Environment located in San Vito di Cadore, teaching and research activities related to the Alpine environment, its climate-environmental vulnerability and its socio-economic development are carried out.
Located at the foot of the Antelao massif, in the heart of the Dolomites, it carries on a long history that begins with the vision and project of Lucio Susmel (1914-2006), promoter of this alpine structure with the aim of stimulating research in Forest Ecology.
The facility provides technical and logistical support for the research and teaching activities that take place at the laboratories inside and at the experimental sites. The Centre also has a conference room and a computer room, and is connected to the Eduroam network. It can host small workshops and summer/winter schools.
