A.Y. 2026/27 – Knowledge of English for admission to degree programmes
Bachelor's Degree, Single-Cycle Master's Degree and Master's Degree
For courses taught in English and for some courses taught in Italian, a minimum level of knowledge of the English language is required. Each notice or call for admission indicates:
- Which level is required for access, B1 or B2 (CEFR);
- What are the deadlines for meeting the requirement;
- How the requirement can be met. This page shows the modalities common to all courses; Any additional procedures are reported in the individual notice or call for admission.
Certifications must be submitted in the manner and within the deadlines specified in the notices and notices of admission.
It is necessary to attach the certification, front and back, within the procedure. Those who have taken the test and have not yet received the certificate can submit the provisional statement of results issued by the certifying body.
The accepted certifications are only those shown in the list below, referring to the minimum scores that vary for courses and curricula delivered in Italian or English.
Accepted qualifications are those relating to a bachelor's degree, single-cycle master's degree, master's degree, or equivalent (foreign qualifications or previous systems); It is not enough to have completed part of the course abroad.
The achievement of the degree must be demonstrated by presenting, in the manner and within the deadlines specified in the notices and notices of admission, the self-certification with exams or the diploma supplement provided by the university in which it was obtained.
If the qualification in question (submitted for the sole purpose of passing the language requirement) was obtained abroad, the Transcript of Records and the final diploma of achievement are required.
In any case, the documentation must explicitly indicate the language in which the course is delivered. Otherwise, it is necessary to attach an official document issued by the university attesting to the language of delivery of the course.
Native speakers are those who are in possession of an identity document indicating one of the following nationalities (dual citizenship is also considered valid in this sense): Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Malta, New Zealand, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, USA.
To certify one's status as a mother tongue, it is necessary to attach an identity document that shows the possession of the citizenship in question, in the manner and within the deadlines specified in the notices and calls for admission.
