Revision of the University’s codes of behaviour and conduct
The revision of both codes is intended to ensure their alignment with the current regulatory framework.
The amendments to the University Code of Conduct (supplementing the “national” Code of Conduct for public employees, referred to in Presidential Decree no. 62/2013) add provisions concerning the use of information technology and social media, the duties of managers – extended also to Directors and Presidents of the University’s structures – and training in public ethics, as provided for by Presidential Decree no. 81/2023.
The Code of conduct for the prevention of and protection against harassment (new title) has been extensively restructured, with the cases covered by protection updated and the procedures reorganised through:
- replacement of the “formal” procedure with the “disciplinary” procedure, in order to avoid duplication of procedures and ensure more timely and effective protection;
- precise definition of the “informal” procedure, entrusted to the Trusted Adviser.
Framework regulation between the University and UniSMART: greater efficiency and synergy for research
The Regulation, lasting five years, governs the relationship between the University and its University Foundation, similarly to the previous one which has expired. The entity’s statutory purposes remain firmly tied to supporting the University, with particular reference to the promotion and economic enhancement of research results, patent protection, technology transfer, as well as organisational support for postgraduate education, internationalisation and fundraising. The need to proceed with the renewal, with amendments to the previous agreement, responds to the requirement to adapt the legal instrument to UniSMART’s matured operational reality. The new text precisely defines the arrangements for entrusting service supplies, including both the services specifically provided for by the University’s Annual and Three-Year Plans and the activities carried out in favour of third parties that are in any case functional to the pursuit of the University’s institutional interests. From a structural point of view, the revision introduced a detailed exemplification of the areas of intervention and redefined the role of the planning documents, which are no longer configured as integral parts of the agreement, but rather as implementing acts of it.
Salary increments for teaching staff
The two-year salary increment was awarded to 691 lecturers who completed the relevant two-year qualifying period for the award in 2025.
