Jeyavelan Muthu is a physicist whose research focuses on advanced low-dimensional materials for energy applications. He obtained his Master’s degree in Physics from Karunya University, India. In 2024, he completed his PhD in Physics at National Taiwan University (NTU), Taiwan, under the supervision of Prof. Mario Hofmann. Following his PhD, he moved to the Czech Republic to pursue postdoctoral research at the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry, where he has been working on in-situ investigation of 2D-TMD electrocatalysts under UHV conditions. As part of his Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF) at the University of Padova, under the supervision of Prof. Stefano Agnoli, he will study the operando hydrogen evolution kinetics of two-dimensional transition metal nitrides (2D-TMNs) to advance the understanding of catalytic mechanisms in next-generation energy materials.
