The University of Padova is part of the Rus (Network of Universities for Sustainable Development), the first experience of coordination and sharing between all Italian universities committed to the issues of environmental sustainability and social responsibility, formally established at the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities - Crui  in July 2016.

The main purpose of Rus is the dissemination of the culture and good practices of sustainability in order to increase the positive impacts in environmental, ethical, social and economic terms of the actions implemented by individual universities. By pooling skills and experience, it also intends to strengthen the recognition and value of the Italian experience at an international level.

In Rus there is the "Inclusion and Social Justice" working group, which aims to implement shared policies and promote sustainable and inclusive social contexts capable of evolving and initiating innovations focused on social justice. The commitment is to increase critical awareness of inequalities, discrimination, forms of inequity, to promote services focused on the right to education, to launch inclusive policies that are attentive to linguistic and gender inequality and to reduce barriers.
The coordinator of this working group is Laura Nota, professor at the University of Padova.
