Arqus Green Mobility Days logo

The Arqus alliance announces the launch of the second edition of the Green Mobility Days, a packed calendar of local events promoted by the partner universities and dedicated to the theme of sustainability in the context of international mobility.

The month of April is not a random choice for the launch of this initiative, as it is internationally recognised as Earth Month. Almost 200 different countries in fact celebrate Earth Day on 22 April every year.

The Green Mobility Days are our contribution to these celebrations, and the common thread running through the events organised is twofold: we wish to identify and share solutions that make our everyday experience of living in the city less impactful (above all, though not only, for the benefit of international students exploring it during their study stay) and, more generally, to encourage the academic community to adopt a greener approach to international mobility.

All members of the University, the student body, lecturers, researchers, are also invited to take part in the selection for the Green Mobility Days award, a prize for the most innovative and impactful project or idea emerging within the Arqus alliance on the subject of environmental sustainability.

Below are the details of the programme and the GMD award.

In Padua, a series of events will raise public awareness of how to live and move around the city sustainably, with the support of the Arqus Alliance and local partners:

  • Monday 5 May 2025, from 16:00 to 19:00: a free market where it will be possible to exchange second-hand clothes and items, promoted by the Xena association – open to everyone.
  • Wednesday 7 May 2025, from 16:00 to 18:00: an information stand where students will be able to find out how to live and move around sustainably in Padua, and learn about new opportunities thanks to the Arqus Alliance.
  • Friday 9 May 2025, from 16:00: a cycle ride to explore the green areas of Padua, with interesting stops along the route. (Registration via this form).

The Green Mobility Days award aims to identify outstanding projects in the field of environmental sustainability that stand out for innovation, impact and transferability to different contexts.

Basic requirement for taking part: being part of the academic community of a partner university of the Arqus alliance (membership of the student body or lecturers, researchers, etc.).

The winning project will enable the proposer to obtain rail travel passes in Europe to the value of 1000 Euro.

Below is the text of the call for applications.

Proposals must be submitted by completing the dedicated online form by 31/05/2025.
