Getting around Padua
Padua, also thanks to its geographical position at the centre of the Venetian plain, can be easily reached via the main transport routes; the city also has a well-developed public transport network and numerous other options for getting around the city.
The University promotes various initiatives to enhance sustainable mobility at our university in urban areas by gathering ideas, opinions and proposals from its student and staff community. The aims are to help the city define policies in support of more sustainable mobility and to contribute to reducing air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption.
In Padua, a free-floating shared e-scooter service is available, managed by Dott. This type of service introduces an innovative form of mobility that ensures positive effects in reducing air pollution and vehicle traffic.
To hire an e-scooter, it is necessary to download the app from the stores (Appstore and Playstore) and register your user profile. The service is intended only for users over 18.
If available, the vehicle may also be used without having to make a booking.
All vehicles are equipped with satellite tracking that prevents theft and at the same time controls the vehicle’s speed by slowing it down in pedestrian areas and prevents the end of the hire in zones where parking is prohibited.
DOTT electric scooters
The University has also entered into an agreement reserved for students, staff and academic personnel, which provides for a 30% discount on the value of the final fare for the use of a Dott electric scooter, up to a maximum of 500 rides.
To benefit from the concession, you must access the dottpartners.com portal, enter your email address with the University domain, download the Dott app and register for the service, then from the app menu select Promotions and “Add Code”: finally enter the unique discount code received by email.
For further information and assistance during the procedure, consult the website of Dott or contact support@ridedott.com

QuiBus is an on-demand night bus service created through the collaboration between the University, the municipality and the transport company Busitalia Veneto. The aim is to make the city more liveable at night too, with an initiative aimed both at students of the University and at those who live in Padua.
The night buses will cover the municipal area and will be available every day of the week until midnight, with an extension until 1 am on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
To access the service, it is necessary to download the QuiBus app and enter the required details. Those studying at the University of Padua will be able to register with their Unipd account; in this way it will be possible to monitor access from the academic community.
Once registration has been completed, it will be possible to book a journey from one week in advance up to 5 minutes before departure. Booking requires entering the place of departure and the destination: the stops provided for the night buses correspond to the stops used daily by Padua’s urban local public transport service, with the exception of tram stops. Access to the vehicle is reserved for registered users only.
The cost of each journey is 2.20 euros, purchasable on the QuiBus app.
