Innovative student projects

The Geotecnica Hands-On project proposes an experimental teaching approach aimed at analysing the main geotechnical phenomena through the creation of a number of interactive physical models equipped with advanced measurement technologies. 

The objective is to make processes that are generally not accessible to direct observation in the subsoil observable and quantifiable, fostering a more immediate and informed understanding of deformation mechanisms, seepage and the conditions leading to the collapse of geotechnical works.
The scale models will be equipped with sensors, data acquisition systems and imaging techniques, in order to integrate the experimental evidence rigorously with theoretical interpretation.

The project is complemented by the production of short outreach videos, contributing to the creation of an immersive, technologically advanced and interdisciplinary learning environment capable of integrating experimental activity, critical analysis and scientific communication.
