Wednesday 16 September, the Europe Direct Padua Centre and the Progetto Giovani office of the Municipality of Padua are organising a public event to watch together the live stream of the State of the Union Address, delivered by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
The State of the Union Address (SOTEU – State of the Union) is the official moment when, every year, the President sets out her plans and defines the agenda for what the European Union should achieve in order to respond to citizens’ needs, with concrete initiatives.
The live stream is preceded by an introduction to the SOTEU by the Europe Direct Padua staff and by a brief interactive quiz to gauge the audience’s knowledge of the European institutions and the significance of the Address.
At the end of the viewing, there will be a guided debate.
The event will be held in Italian and English to enable international students currently in Padua to take part.
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.
