Shaping Conference

Ceramics is an ancient material, but it is projected into the future: thanks to its unique characteristics, including the ability to withstand extremely high temperatures, it is becoming increasingly strategic for highly innovative industries, from biomedicine to aerospace, from automotive to defence. Some of the world’s leading experts in ceramic materials will gather from 21 to 23 September in Padua, which is hosting the tenth edition of the “Shaping Conference”. 
The conference, jointly promoted by the European Ceramic Society and the Società Ceramica Italiana, is held every two years and, for the first time, in 2026 it is coming to Italy: more than 200 of the world’s leading experts from 27 different countries are expected at the Padova Congress conference centre, with sizeable delegations from European countries, China, India and Brazil.

The central theme of the conference is advanced shaping processes applied to ceramics and ceramic-matrix composites: among the most advanced ones, used in industry, are additive manufacturing (3D printing) and rapid sintering systems. The two keynote lectures will be given by Eduardo Saiz of the Imperial College di Londra and Shiwei Wang of the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Science.
