Poetry for the sky. The whole universe (or almost) in a poetry slam

As part of the Castello Festival, on the evening of Friday 11 September, the Teatro Giardino di Palazzo Zuckermann in Padua hosts a poetic challenge celebrating the wonder of astrophysical research and curiosity, building a bridge between the infinitely vast and the spoken word. 

Six of the finest artists on the Italian Poetry Slam scene will compete on stage with original verses inspired by contemporary astrophysical research: from black holes to the birth of stars, all the way to the boundaries of time and space. Taking turns on stage are Giulia Sara Arcovito, Martina Lauretta, Giuliano Logos, Olympia, Gabriele Ratano, Annachiara Vispi, with a scientific introduction by Mauro Centrone.

Conceived by Chiara Di Benedetto (Studio Bleu) and Lorenzo Maragoni (author, director and 2022 poetry slam world champion), the show follows the rules of Poetry Slam: a competition in which each artist performs their own texts, without props or musical backing. The audience is not merely made up of spectators, but is the true protagonist, namely the popular jury in the auditorium that votes on the performances and decides the winner of the evening.
