Beyond… Europa

The 2026-2027 edition of the Tuesday cultural meetings #tuesday for future of the Centro universitario di Padova begins on Tuesday 13 October, at 6.30 p.m. at the Centro universitario di Padova, with the guiding theme: BEYOND – Are we capable of looking beyond?
“Beyond” is a strongly evocative word, chosen to call to mind many aspects of everyday life, precisely in order to cast a glance “beyond” stereotypes, cultural prejudices, behaviours and labels; but also to go “beyond” words and images, and enter deep within oneself.
The first meeting, on Tuesday 13 October 2026, addresses the theme “beyond… Europe” with the participation of Marco Mascia, lecturer in international relations at the University of Padua.
When thinking about Europe, can there be a policy that goes beyond the Atlantic Pact, a policy that goes beyond the current fragile European institutional architecture, beyond the use of force to regulate international relations? And again, is it possible to go beyond an alliance-based policy in order to feel safe from possible enemies? And finally, the path of disarmament: is it always the right path to follow?
These are some of the questions that will shape the contribution of Marco Mascia, lecturer at the University of Padua.
The meeting takes place in person at the university centre; after the meeting, the recording is made available on the university centre’s YouTube page.
Admission is free, subject to availability.
The series of eight events unfolds through one meeting per month, always on Tuesday evening at 6.30 p.m. at the Centro universitario.
