On Thursday 1 October 2026, a study day at the Musei Eremitani di Padua sheds light beyond the fresco cycle in the Cappella degli Scrovegni: the painted decoration is in fact marked by numerous graffiti left by those who visited the site over the centuries, starting from the fourteenth century.

The event aims to illustrate their history, analyse their meaning, and identify figures who wished to link their name to Giotto’s work, addressing the topic from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Among the various contributions are those of Unipd scholars Antonella Undiemi, who speaks about the ERC Graff-IT project on the graffiti of the Cappella degli Scrovegni, and Rita Deiana, who describes the contribution of multispectral imaging to the identification and reading of the graffiti in the Chapel.

Free admission until all available seats are taken.
