Generative Artificial Intelligence for Bioengineering

The 45th edition of the annual school of the Gruppo nazionale di Bioingegneria - GNB takes place from 7 to 10 September at the Casa della Gioventù di Bressanone, which also hosts the summer courses of the University of Padua.

The school focuses on the impact of generative artificial intelligence on research and teaching in the field of Bioengineering. Generative AI is increasingly influencing data analysis, biological modelling, experimental design and scientific communication, offering new opportunities while at the same time posing methodological, ethical and responsibility-related challenges.

The school's main objective is to explore the use of generative AI in Bioengineering through a critical and rigorous methodological perspective. The programme is not intended to teach the development of new AI models, but rather to promote awareness of the potential, limitations and implications of these technologies when applied to research in Bioengineering.

The school is aimed primarily at PhD students and early-career researchers, and seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of generative AI in Bioengineering, promoting the responsible and informed integration of these tools into scientific practice.

Participation is subject to registration and payment of a fee.
