80 years of Cus Padua

The big celebration to mark the 80th anniversary of Cus Padova is open to all citizens, on Saturday 3 October at the sports facilities in via Corrado.

Kicking off the long programme of events, from 15:45, is the first edition of the Cussiadi: children and young people aged 5 to 15 will try their hand at various activities, guided by coaches from the different sections, combining sporting and recreational disciplines that will involve the whole centre, from the hockey pitch to the wrestling hall and the rugby pitch.

At 18:00, meanwhile, the celebration officially opens with the greetings from the authorities in attendance and the officials of CUS Padova.

From 18:15 there will be a discussion panel on the theme of sport and the University with Federico Ruzza, a mainstay of the Italian national rugby team who came through CUS Padova, and Francesca Tarantello, silver medallist in paratriathlon at the Paris 2024 Paralympics and a graduate of the University of Padua the following year.

The panel will conclude with a moment dedicated to the athletes who have represented CUS Padova over these 80 years.

At around 19:30, there will be the Cussiadi awards ceremony.

The event also coincides with the traditional opening celebration for the new season. That is why, from 19:45 onwards, the teams and athletes who will represent CUS Padova in 2026/27 will parade on stage for their presentation.

For everyone attending, there will be music and the opportunity to eat and drink thanks to the food trucks.

The evening, which is free of charge, will conclude with a fireworks display.
