Tours and tickets
Tours of Palazzo del Bo are available every day of the year except on the 24th, 25th, 31st of December, and the 1st of January. Tours may be suspended during institutional events of particular importance.
- Palazzo del Bo - Historical Tour
Access is available Monday to Friday with guided tours only.
- Palazzo Bo and the twentieth-century additions
Access is available on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays using autonomous audio tours uploaded from QR codes onto your device.
Guided tours are also available at specific time slots.
- The Hall of Giants - Palazzo Liviano
Access is available with guided tours. Autonomous audio tours uploaded from QR codes onto devices are available on special occasions.

Please note that prepaid reservation times and tickets cannot be modified, cancelled, or refunded.
General conditions for the tour
- During the tour, visitors are forbidden to touch doors, furniture, or any other surfaces both outside and inside the rooms.
- All tours take place on foot, it is not possible to sit on chairs, benches, or other furniture pieces as they are part of the university’s artistic heritage.

The University of Padua is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutes of higher education in Europe (1222). From its early beginnings, the university has always stood for academic freedom, exceptional cultural liveliness, and extraordinary international reach.
Palazzo del Bo has hosted numerous illustrious figures that have left indelible marks on the evolution of humanity, including Copernicus, Vesalius, Galilei, and Harvey. The first permanent anatomical theatre was built here in 1594. The world's first woman to receive a PhD graduated here in 1678 and, over the centuries, the Palazzo del Bo has continued to host exceptional important events.
How to get to Palazzo Bo
The nearest airport to Padua is the Marco Polo International Airport (about 30 km). Connections are provided by a bus service (Busitalia), running every half an hour to the Padua Bus Station. The Bus Station in Padua is not far away from the Train Station, which is close to the city centre (train timetables can be consulted on the Trenitalia and Italo websites). From the Station, you can reach Palazzo del Bo (address: via VIII Febbraio, 2) on foot in about 15 minutes. There is also a Tram Service - Sir 1 line - running every 10 minutes from the station to the proximity of Palazzo del Bo (Ponti Romani tram stop).
Please note that Palazzo Liviano is located within a limited traffic zone (ZTL), where cars are not allowed without permission. The nearest parking lots can be found in the Prato della Valle area at the Park Rabin (15 minutes, on foot), piazza Insurrezione (often crowded), and at Padova Centro Park, near the Scrovegni Chapel.
