The course provides knowledge, skills and competences to develop, implement, manage and evaluate educational projects oriented towards social and community interventions, both in public and private entities. After the first year in common, the course is divided into two curricula: Educational Services for the Infancy, which trains to design environments and interventions for children from 0 to 3, connecting with families and other operators of the local community, for employment in public or private services aimed at educational intervention and support for parenting; Social education and cultural entertainment, which trains for work in socio-educational services and in the field of cultural and environmental entertainment, for employment as an educator and socio-educational entertainer in those entities which manage and provide social and socio-cultural services and deal with families, minors, the elderly, inmates, foreigners, nomads, and cultural, recreational and sports services.

Characteristics and objectives
The Bachelor's degree course provides the necessary knowledge, abilities and skills to develop, realize, manage and evaluate educational interventions, directed at social and community intervention, both in the public and in the private sector. The first year is common then the student has to choose the curriculum: Educational services for childhood or Social education and cultural animation.
The curriculum 'Educational services for childhood' meets the minimum requirements set out in Article 4, paragraph 1, letter e) of Legislative Decree No. 65/2017 and is recognized as a title of access to the profession of educator of educational services for children.
The curriculum 'Social education and cultural animation' is addressed to educate graduates for working in the socio-educational services (minors, elderly people, people with special needs, immigrants, young in need) and in the cultural and environmental area.
Didactics includes seminars with professionals, workshops and visits to community services. Students are required to do a mandatory traineeship which may be done in Italy or abroad.

Occupational opportunities
Graduates in 'Educational services for childhood' will be able to design educational settings and plan interventions for children who are 0 to 3 years old with the contribution of families and other professionals in the local community. Graduates can work in early childhood educational services as well as in parenthood support services ( nursery, day care, early childhood and families centres, homecare services).
Graduates in 'Social education and cultural animation' will be able to work in socio-educational and socio-cultural areas, both in the public and in the private sectors with families, minors, elderly people, people with special needs, detainees, young in need, immigrants, as well as in cultural, environmental, recreational areas, sports and services - youth centres, libraries, media libraries, museums, eco-museums, parks, environmental agencies.

From Bachelor's degree to Master's degree
This bachelor's degree course allows access to Master's degree in 'Management of educational services and lifelong education', 'Pedagogy', and 'Cultural pluralism, social change and migrations' offered by the University of Padua, as stated in the admission notice.
