Environmental protection and land management in favor of sustainable development are at the heart of this master degree course, the only one in this sector in Italy delivered in English; it trains professionals capable of designing and managing engineering solutions with minimal impact on social and physical-environmental contexts. Thanks to scientific and professional knowledge of the interrelationships between various physical, biological and chemical processes involved in complex environmental systems, you will be able to design works aimed at the treatment and disposal of waste and at defending the environment from extreme events, you will know how to prevent situations of degradation and risk to the environment, assessing and controlling the safety of the territory and environmental quality by safeguarding the protection of natural resources, operating in both public and private contexts.

Characteristics and objectives
The Master represents the natural completion of the three-year degree in Environment and Territory. Thanks to a multidisciplinary approach that takes into account multiple interactions such as: chemical-physical, geological-geotechnical, hydraulic-hydrological, landscape-urban, as well as environmental-legislation, professionals are trained with advanced scientific knowledge on the interrelationships between the natural world and the anthropic pressure. These professional figures work in the assessment of environmental safety and quality in its various aspects, as well as in the protection of natural resources and in the recovery of contaminated environments, also by developing specific strategies and technologies.

Occupational opportunities
The main career opportunities concern: environmental protection and land management agencies, public administrations (state, regional, provincial and municipal) and service companies operating in the waste treatment and in water supply and distribution. It is still possible to find employment in public and private research centres, in Companies operating in the environmental protection and to practice the profession independently or in partnership.
