Physiotherapists are one of the best known figures among healthcare professionals as they use their skills (both independently and alongside multidisciplinary groups) to assist patients in regaining lost autonomy. By enrolling in this course you will discover (with an important theoretical-practical approach) the main topics related to issues of movement and rehabilitation. You will not only learn about the main rehabilitation techniques, but also how to recognize the pathologies including trauma, neurological issues, as well as those found typical during development and in aging. You will learn how to evaluate effectiveness treatments and to promote positive and preventive healthcare techniques. The course allows you to enter the workplace in both public and private structures or carry out the freelance physiotherapist activities.

Characteristics and targets
Physiotherapist is a healthcare professional who performs prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of motor skills, higher cortical functions and visceral pathological events, She/He works autonomously or cooperating with other health professionals. According to the medical diagnosis and directions, Physiotherapist defines the rehabilitation program aimed at identification and at overcoming, the health needs of disables,. She/He practices on his own or even in multidisciplinary teams. She/He performs therapeutic activity for the functional rehabilitation of motor disabilities, psychomotor and cognitive skills. She/He uses therapeutic exercises, physical therapies, massage and manual therapy. She/He proposes the adoption of prostheses and aids, cares the training and verifies their effectiveness; She/He verifies the correspondences of rehabilitative methodology implemented to and functional recovery targets. She/He is also active in research, teaching and professional advice in health services and in those where a professional competence is required.

Work opportunities
Physiotherapist is employed in different structures of national and regional health service, private facilities, such as clinics and rehabilitation canters, nursing homes, canters spas, wellness canters, poly-specialist clinics, professional offices, sports clubs.

From Bachelor's degree to Master's degree
The degree in Physiotherapy allows the access to the Master of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences of Health Professions and at the 1st level University Masters (according to the Italian legislation).
