The course helps students acquire basic pedagogical training in order to operate in various educational and training contexts. After the first year in common, it is divided into two curricula:
Educational sciences: provides training in areas where competences in the educational field and intervention skills are required, in order to support learning processes, with respect to activities carried on in socio-educational, cultural-recreational, socio-health and health services , at institutions, entities, associations, cooperatives operating locally or in network with the school in targeted educational projects; Human Resource Development: it prepares for the role of trainer, project manager and evaluator of professional and continuing education activities, in presence and online, in companies, public entities and private social associations, and in the field of education.

Characteristics and objectives
The degree course in Education and Training Sciences (SEF) in Padua provides basic knowledge and understanding in the pedagogical field; it prepares students to be able to work in different educational and training contexts in order to be able to respond to the socio-educational needs of different targets. By privileging an interdisciplinary approach, it allows to develop, from a theoretical and applicative point of view, study and research in educational and adults' training.
After the first year, the course is divided into two distinct curricula.
The curriculum in Educational Sciences (SED) forms the figure of the socio-pedagogical educator and provides a general knowledge and understanding in the field of educational sciences and human sciences. It trains for the development of skills related to the design, implementation and evalution of socio-educational interventions in different contexts and services of social matters (but not in the context of nursery). These contexts are related to the situations that need an educational care, they involve the orientation in the school and training environment, the implementation of positive interactions and nets between people and cultures, the support in learning (both in the case of difficulties and in strengthening activities), the pedagogical consultancy. It provides a basic preparation that can be continued in a master degree course.
The Human Resource Development and Training (FSRU) curriculum prepares the student for the role of adult trainer in organizational and professional contexts. It provides knowledge and skills to analyze the training issues and needs of the different organizational and working contexts: the aim is to design, manage and evaluate training processes and interventions for young and adult people, also using multimedia technologies and distance learning systems.
For both curricula there is a compulsory internship activity, which can also be carried out with stays abroad. The study course allows students to spend a period of study abroad with the Erasmus + Studio program.
Occupational opportunities
The Educational Sciences (SED) curriculum provides knowledge and understanding in all fields where educational and intervention skills can support learning processes. It particulary focuses on activities in socio-educational, cultural-recreational and health care services (with reference to socio-educational aspects) for all ages of human life, offered by institutions, associations, non-profit organisation working individually or in network with others, and also offered by schools in targeted educational projects. The knowledge offered also concerns the areas of educational consultancy, scientific publications about didactics, and educational interventions in the creation of didactic tools and in library and museum services also. The SED curriculum is also structured to offer access to the master's degrees that allow students to become secondary school teacher.
The Human Resources Training and Development curriculum (FSRU) prepares the manager who plans and evaluates professional and continuing training activities for workers, face-to-face and online, in organizational and training contexts aimed at people both female and male, young and old.
Graduates will be able to operate within companies, public entities and associations of the private social sector, in the context of first level, post-compulsory or initial training, of second level, post-secondary and post-university training, in personnel selection and human resource development. The FSRU curriculum provides adequate preparation to operate in the field of online learning as tutor and teacher, in the field of orientation and adult training, and as expert in career guidance services and placement services.
From Bachelor's degree to Master's degree
The course gives access in particular to master's degree courses relating to pedagogical research, design and management of educational services, adult training (classes LM50, LM57, LM85, LM87, LM93) and to all master's degree programs that foresee as an access requirement the three-year degree in L19 class. At the University of Padua, direct access is provided for courses in Management of Educational Services and Continuing Education and Pedagogy, according to the indications in the specific admission notices.
