At the end of the course, graduates will have acquired analytical and design skills, and all the knowledge necessary to understand and use the techniques and tools used in the most innovative areas of IE. Graduates will also have acquired critical analysis and problem-solving skills, and will be able to deal with problems in the context of IE by developing models and proposing appropriate solutions
Main employment and professional opportunities
The typical employment opportunities for those who acquire a bachelor's degree in Information Engineering are made up of all the work areas related to the main sectors of IE, in accordance with the wide range of skills acquired through a transversal and multidisciplinary preparation. Graduates can therefore find employment in private companies operating in the fields of electronics, telecommunications, information technology, measurement instrumentation, the automotive industry and industrial automation. These companies are typically characterized by strong flexibility and dynamism, to adapt to the demands of increasingly global and constantly evolving markets. With graduates in Information Engineering, these companies find an answer to the demand for young personnel, with the flexibility and broad skills that make them easily employed in the production field. In the same way, the ubiquity of IE applications is such that those who obtain the degree will also be able to find employment in the public administration. The strong international connotation of the CdS will open up a wider market to graduates both nationally and internationally. Finally, by obtaining the professional qualification and enrolment in Section B of the Professional Order of Engineers in the Information sector, those who graduate will also be able to carry out the freelance profession, providing their skills on assignment to various subjects, private and public.
Possible continuation of the course of study
Information Engineering, a CdS that programmatically offers a methodological, generalist/multidisciplinary and international approach, is also the most appropriate solution for the needs of those who want to acquire a very wide spectrum of fundamental knowledge in the field of IE and postpone a possible specialization to a Master's Degree. This will be possible because the CdS will be structured to provide a preparation, as well as broad-spectrum, also at a high level, which will allow in particular access to all the Master's Degree Courses in the information area of the DEI: Computer Engineering, Control System Engineering, Electronic Engineering and ICT for Internet and Multimedia, and Bioengineering. In the same way, graduates in Information Engineering will be able to successfully take a course in other universities, national or international. Finally, as demonstrated by the ten-year experience of the Information Engineering Course, broad-spectrum bachelor's degree graduates with solid methodological bases are able to develop, after a master's degree, professional figures with specific peculiarities: broad vision, flexibility and ability to adapt to changing technology, which will make them more capable of progressing in the world of work and also facing research doctorates.
