Research Area

The current research activity is on the Particle Technology and is focused on the study of mixing of solids and on segregation problems, on the mechanics of granular solids, on the study of the rheology of dense granular materials in particular of dense flow in stirred mixers, in hoppers and silos, on the study of the agglomeration of wet powders in low and high intensity mixers. The research group is actively interested in the development of new methods for the characterization of powder flowability and recently also for the characterization of their wettability. The approaches used are experimental, numerical and theoretical.
