Simone Milani received his Laurea Degree (5 years course) with honors from the University of Padova, Italy, on December 2002. On March 2007, he received his Ph.D. title on Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the same institution. After his graduation, he has been working as post-doc researcher for the University of Padova, the University of Udine, and the Politecnico di Milano.

Since May 2014, he has been enrolled as assistant professor at the University of Padova, Italy. He is author of 21 journal papers (20 international magazine + 1 national magazine), 2 book chapters, 66 international conference papers. Since 2010, his works concerning multimedia forensic analysis and 3D model acquisition and compression have won 3 best paper awards on international conferences, 1 international award for best journal paper, and 1 national award for best research.

He is also a IEEE member of Information Theory and Signal Processing Societies; withinh the latter, he is member of the Regional Committee for Region 8 (Europe, Middle-East, Africa). He has also been a reviewer for many international conferences and journals. He has also served as international scientific expert for the Agence Nationale de la Recherce (ANR) – France for the evaluation of project proposals.

His main research topics are digital signal processing, source coding, distributed source coding, 3D data modeling, 3D data analysis, 3D image/video compression, augmented/virtual/mixed reality, reverse engineering of multimedia data, multimedia forensic.
