GIACOMO CHIARA
He holds PhDs in "Psychological Sciences" and "Social Sciences: Interaction, Communication, Cultural Constructions", and a specialisation in Psychotherapy. He has various international experiences. He has been a visiting scholar at the Universidade do Minho, Braga (Portugal); at the Department of Psychology, Mount Royal University, Calgary (Canada); Principal guest lecture at the Department of Psychology, Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary (Canada); at the Calgary Family Therapy Centre; and at the Breda University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands). He has been associated with the Taos Institute (https://www.taosinstitute.net/about-us/people/institute-associates/europe/italy/giacomo-chiara-ph-d) since 2022.

Research Area
Some main areas from a socio-constructionist perspective and social representation theory. Specifically, meaning-making processes and critical perspectives on mental health, relational therapies (narrative, family, collaborative), relational processes and multiplicity of the self, intercultural dialogue (cultural identity and cultural discourses in therapeutic conversations) migratory flows (promotion of a not pathologising and not dehumanising view of refugees and survivors of human trafficking), relational perspectives on trauma (relational growth and post-traumatic growth), social psychology and literary texts (autobiographies, collaborative writing, collective memory), qualitative (generative research, appreciative inquiry) and quali-quantitative research methods.
