Vincenzo Amendola is Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry (CHIM / 02, 03 / A2) at the Department of Chemical Sciences since 2015, after being a University Researcher since 2008 and Adjunct Professor since 2011 for the responsibility of the Physical Chemistry Laboratory course of the degree in Industrial Chemistry.
He is qualified as full professor for Physical Chemistry (CHIM / 02, 03 / A2) since April 2017, in addition to those for FIS / 01 and CHIM / 07.
He received a Master's Degree in Materials Science in 2004 and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering in 2008 at the University of Padua.
In 2007 he spent part of the PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology working in the group of Prof. Stellacci.
In 2011 he was "Academic Visitor" at the University of Cambridge working in the group of Prof. A.C. Ferrari.
In 2014 he was a short term visiting researcher at Trinity College, Dublin.
He received the Levi Prize and the Semerano Prize from the Italian Chemical Society, the Alceste Mion Prize from the homonymous Foundation, the Innovators Under 35 award from the Technology Review Italia magazine and the Italian Foundation for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Research, the Maria Paola Belloni prize for innovation in biomedical research.
His research activity concerns the laser assisted synthesis of functional nanomaterials (plasmonic, magnetic, self-repairing), which he introduced in Padua for the first time, as well as the study of plasmonic nanostructures and their application in photonics, catalysis and nanomedicine.
