Marco Zecca was born in Brescia in 1962. In 1986 he graduated (full marks "cum laude") in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Padova. He was awarded the Bezzi Gold Medal as the best graduate of his year in Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry. After a fellowship grated by Eniricerche SpA (1987-88) and the military service in the Italian Army (1988-89) in 1990 he won the tenured position of "Researcher" of the Department of Inorganic, Metallorganic and Analytical Chemistry (later merged in the Department of Chemical Sciences) of the University of Padova. Since 2002 he has been Associate Professor of Inorganic Chemistry of the Department of Chemical Sciences.
His current teaching duties include the courses of Inorganic Chemistry II (Degree in Chemistry), Chemistry of Catalytic Processes (Master Degree in Industrial Chemistry), Catalysis for the Circular Economy (Master Degree in Sustainable Chemistry and Tecnhology for the Circular Economy).
His research activity is mainly focused on the use of the transition metals and of polymeric materials in heterogneous catalysis.
