Associate Professor of Surgery. Specialist in General Surgery and PhD in Surgical Sciences and Technological Applications.
He dedicated himself to Hepatobiliopancreatic and Transplant Surgery and subsequently to Esophageal Surgery, dealing in particular with oncological surgery of the esophagus and stomach and laparoscopic surgery. After a period of study at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, he introduced totally minimally invasive esophagectomy for esophageal cancer in Padua. He was called as Associate Professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgical, Oncological and Gastroenterological Sciences. He teaches at the General Surgery Residency Program and is a member of the Teaching Board of the Doctoral School in Clinical and Experimental Medical Sciences of the University of Padua. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeon (FACS) and a member of many national and international scientific societies, including the International Society for the Diseases of Esophagus (ISDE) and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT). He is a founding member and president of the Italian Society for the Study of Esophagus Diseases (SISME).
