Research Area

The scientific activity consists of studies of a mineralogical nature with different methodologies and purposes:- Crystal-chemical characterization of natural mineralogical phases for classification purposes- Characterization of mineralogical phases and synthetic analogs (currently apatites and nanoparticles of iron oxides) with biomedical and environmental purposes- Studies in high-temperature X-ray diffraction aimed at understanding mechanisms and phase transformation kinetics.Main current research activityStudy of the efficacy and efficiency of iron oxide nanoparticles for the removal of pollutants from water and soil. Role of mineralogy in metal release processes.
