Eliana Fornaciari graduated in Geological Sciences at the University of Padova in 1987. She obtained the doctorate degree in Earth Sciences at the University of Padova in 1996. Since 6/04/1999 to 30/08/1999 she was researcher at the CNR (Centro di Studio per la Geodinamica Alpina) of Padova. Since 1/09/1999 to 31/10/2002 she was researcher at the Department of Geology, Paleontology and Geophysics of the University of Padova (Italy). Since 1/11/2002 is Associate Professor at the Department of Geosciences of the University of Padova. She has been working on Neogene calcareous nannofossil taxonomy biostratigraphy paleoecology and biochronology. In particular she contributed to the studies on the reconstruction of geological evolution of Adriatic Margin during the Miocene. Currently her studies are focused 1) on Paleogene calcareous nannofossil biostratigraphy and paleoecology in national/international projects with the aim to investigate some climatic perturbations in the Paleogene hemipelagic sediments of the Veneto region (Italy) and ODP cores using an integrated approach and multidisciplinary methodologies. 2) on the stratigraphy of Crotone Basin (South Italy) within a network of integrated and multidisciplinary studies where the calcareous nannofossil biostratigraphy contribute to chronological constrain3) on calcareous nannofossil biostratigraphy and biochronology of Cenomanian-Turonian interval with the main aim to explore some climatic perturbations in the upper Cretaceous hemipelagic sediments of the Veneto region (Italy) using an integrated approach and multidisciplinary methodologiesShe has been the author or co-author of some 105 papers and has contributed to the Italian National Cartography program of Regione Emilia-Romagna (biostatigraphic contribution to 18 geological maps).
