- Alberto Campagnolo was born in Cittadella on February 27th, 1987. In 2006 he graduated at the high school “Tito Lucrezio Caro” of Cittadella (PD) with the score 100/100.
- In 2009 he obtained the bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Padova with the score 110/110 cum laude.
- In 2012 he obtained the master degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Padova with the score 110/110 cum laude.
- In 2016 he obtained the PhD title in Mechatronics and Product Innovation Engineering at the University of Padova with the dissertation: “Local approaches applied to fracture and fatigue problems” (Supervisors: Prof. Paolo Lazzarin and Prof. Filippo Berto)
- In 2016 he won a two-years junior research grant with the title “Development, experimental validation and implementation in commercial FE codes of methods for the prediction of the structural integrity of welded structures subjected to multiaxial cyclic loadings”, at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Padova.
- In 2018 he became Assistant Professor of Machine Design at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Padova.
- In 2024 he became Associate Professor of Machine Design at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Padova.
- He is author of about 70 scientific publications, 40 of which published in International Journals with impact factor, while 30 published in Proceedings of International or National Conferences. His research fields deal with the development of local approaches for structural durability analysis of welded components and structures, the analysis of the fatigue behaviour of notched components in metallic materials, the adoption and the development of the electrical potential drop method to monitor fatigue crack initiation and propagation.
- He is reviewer for the following international journals: “Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures”, “International Journal of Fatigue”, “Engineering Fracture Mechanics”, “Materials and Design”, “Theoretical and Applied Fracture Mechanics”, “International Journal of Damage Mechanics”, “Journal of Testing and Evaluation”.
- Serves in the Editorial Board of the international journals "Applied Sciences Basel - MDPI" and "Mathematical Problems in Engineering" from 2018.
- In 2016 he won the “PhD award” dedicated to the memory of Prof. Paolo Lazzarin and given by the Department of Management and Engineering of the University of Padova.
- In 2017 he won the “Outstanding Article Award” from the Editorial board of the international journal “ASTM International – Journal of Testing and Evaluation” with reference to the paper: Torabi, A. R.; Campagnolo, A.; Berto, F. Mode II brittle fracture assessment of key-hole notches by means of the local energy. ASTM Journal of Testing and Evaluation; 44 (3): 1261-1270 (2016).
