FINAL EXAMINATION
It is possible to write a dissertation (of a bibliographic type or relating to empirical research) on topics relating to Internet / Social Network use disorder.
Interested undergraduates, regardless of the type of paper, will first be asked to write a short report on the specific topic agreed with the supervisor, in which to frame the topic by referring to recent scientific literature. Since the reference literature is almost exclusively in English, it is necessary to have a knowledge of the language that allows understanding (and eventually producing) complex scientific texts.
The drafting of a bibliographic work requires a synthetic critical analysis of the scientific literature relating to the subject matter of the work, and not a purely descriptive report of the state of the art.
The possibility of carrying out an experimental work is linked to the type and timing of the research projects that are being carried out/planned by the supervisor during the year.
Concerning work of an empirical nature, sufficient familiarity and autonomy (present or to be acquired during the experimental work) is required in conducting statistical analyses (e.g., descriptive statistics, regression, analysis of variance).

MASTER'S DEGREE THESIS
It is possible to write a bibliographic thesis on topics concerning Internet / Social Network Use Disorder, in the context of Affective Neuroscience and Clinical Psychophysiology.
The drafting of a bibliographic thesis requires an articulated critical analysis of the scientific literature relating to the subject matter of the thesis and not a purely descriptive account of the state of the art.
The possibility of carrying out an experimental thesis is linked to the type and timing of the research projects that are being carried out/planned by the supervisor during the year.
Concerning work of an empirical nature, good familiarity and autonomy (present or to be acquired in the course of the experimental work) are required in conducting statistical analyses (e.g. descriptive statistics, regression, analysis of variance) and sufficient motivation to learn, if necessary, further statistical approaches. A knowledge (present or to be acquired during the experimental work) of software for the programming of laboratory experiments / online surveys and/or for the recording/analysis of psychophysiological data is also required.
If the research work involves recording psychophysiological indices, preliminary knowledge of psychophysiology and consistent attendance in the laboratory is required, preceded by training.
Regardless of the type of thesis, a brief report on the specific topic agreed with the supervisor will be required in advance, in which to frame the topic by referring to recent scientific literature. Since the reference literature is almost exclusively in English, it is necessary to have a knowledge of the language that allows understanding (and eventually producing) complex scientific texts.
