Leonardo Bellomo (3/12/1985) studied at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, the University of Padua and the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, where he completed a postgraduate course in "Discipline filologiche e linguistiche moderne" (Phd) in October 2014. He has held research grants at the University of Padua and the “Marco Praloran Fellowship” at the “Ezio Franceschini” Foundation in Florence. He has taught at the University of Verona and at the Foundation-University of Mantua.
His main research interests concern metrics, stylistics and the history of the Italian language. He has two monographs to his credit: the first is dedicated to the renewal of 18th-century prose and more specifically to the essayistic and novelistic production of Alessandro Verri; the second to the style and metrics of the lyrical side of Lorenzo de' Medici's poetry. He has also dealt with Leopardi's work, in particular poetry, with a special interest in the poet's treatment of more traditional forms and the relationship between metre and syntax, and with Montale's prose writing, publishing articles on short stories and especially on the language and style of letters.
