Assignment of Very High Specialization in Surgical Therapy of Chronic Inflammatory Bowel Diseases.
Care: surgical treatment of diseases related to the digestive system with particular expertise in chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease and colorectal neoplasms. It also carries out outpatient and endoscopy activities, especially of the lower digestive tract.
Research activities: In the field of research, he has devoted himself in particular to the genetic molecular study of intestinal neoplasms, the mechanisms of carcinogenesis in IBD, the mediators of inflammation in chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, he also carries out clinical research in the field of gastrointestinal pathology, the analysis of the quality of life after surgery for benign pathology in relation to the various therapeutic choices. He is also involved in the functional study of the lower digestive tract and the anorectal tract.

Teaching activity: lecturer at the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Teaching position in the Master's Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Padua. Lecturer at the School of Specialization in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery.
Director of the second level Master's Degree in "Stoma Therapy and Incontinence".
He has edited several chapters on intestinal pathology in Testi di Chirurgia e Gastroenterologia. He has been supervisor and co-supervisor of numerous degree and specialization theses.
He has participated as an invited speaker in numerous courses and conferences, including international ones, and is the author or co-author of numerous works, most of which in English.
He is a member of 6 Scientific Societies, 3 of which are international.
He performs about 200 surgeries per year of medium and high difficulty with particular expertise in colorectal surgery, excellent skills in the field of surgical endoscopy, author or co-author of about 200 scientific publications, performs frontal teaching and tutorial activities in the degree course in Medicine and Surgery and in the school of specialization in General Surgery, invited as a speaker in numerous scientific events.
